  • The Basic Ingredients
  • In order to clean your bike you need to have all of the basic equipment. These are as follows. A bucket, 2 or more sponges, water, various rags, a toothbrush, fine wire wool, general car shampoo, wax, WD-40, and a large amount of elbow grease.

Introduction
Cleaning your bike is much like riding it, everyone does things their own way and has their own preferred methods. Let BSUK help you brush up your skills and and turn a chore into an art form !

Preparation
A thorough preparation job is essential, how well this is done will affect the total result so taking time on this stage is vital.

Wash the bike with a liquid soap designed for washing cars/motorcycles using one of the sponges. Wash the whole body work, motor, rear sub-frame and wheels. this is the first step completed and will have removed a high proportion of the accumulated dirt.

Caution
Do not be tempted to use dishwashing soap as these are not designed to be used on painted surfaces and their harsh detergents may strip the protective surface layer. Also be very careful if you choose to use powdered soaps, make sure that it has been mixed properly as loose grains can cause severe permanent scratching to your motorcycle.
